THE VILLA WETLANDS

The Villa Wetlands are located in the department of Lima, Lima Province, district of Chorrillos at kilometer 19 of the South Pan American (Villa On the bridge, toll, Av Huaylas).

The fauna here is represented principally by about 10 species of fish and some reptiles and rodents. There are 210 species of birds, among which 70% are migratory. Among the latter are; the great grebe Pied Grosbeak, the Garza Grande, the Huaco Common Colorado Duck, Duck Gargantillo, Osprey, Moorhen, Coot, the Mayor and the yellow-legged Sandpiper Plover Crito among others.

According to INRENA, studies undertaken between 1993 and 2001 there are: Migratory Andean 38 species, 49 species of local, 53 species Migratory north, and from the south Migratory 19 species, and Resident there are 49 species.
